Product overview

Agent is an internal platform for our verification agents in Algeria and Mauritius to manually verify identity documents (ID, Proof of Address, Facematch, AML) through a user-centric flow. It plays a key role in the Synaps verification pipeline, ensuring security and accuracy.

My role

As a product designer, I led the UX/UI redesign and collaborated with product and engineering to improve usability and efficiency. I also contributed to developing new features tailored to our agents’ workflow.

Design consistency

Despite being internal, Agent had to align with the broader Synaps ecosystem in terms of branding, color palette, spacing, and UI language to maintain a cohesive experience across all products.

Design challenge

Designing a manual verification tool required a deep understanding of identity documents from various countries. It also involved considering legal and operational constraints. Additionally, the design had to provide a clear, intuitive UI, enabling agents to make quick, high-stakes decisions.
Developing the Agent tool also required tackling complex tech and innovation challenges. The platform's intricate back-end and evolving rules around verification and fraud detection demanded close collaboration with developers to balance functionality and seamless UX.

UX research impact

I conducted user interviews with our verification agents to identify workflow pain points, refine interactions for clarity and speed, and prioritize features based on actual usage. These efforts resulted in a noticeable reduction in task completion time for internal agents, with an average decrease in the time required to process each document. As a result, we achieved a more efficient manual review process, significantly improving both productivity and accuracy.

✨ This is a brief overview of the project. I’d be happy to dive deeper into the process, the challenges I faced, how I approached them, what I explored, and the ways my work helped enhance the overall experience on a call.
